Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal “taking it slow”
Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal are proceeding slowly with their relationship, a source has told People magazine.
The Rendition co-stars were spotted dining with friends at Il Sole in Los Angeles late last month with an onlooker telling People: “They were cuddling. It looked very playful.”
A source close to the pair has now added that it wasn’t an isolated date: “In the last month, they’ve been spending a lot more time together.”
Reese separated from husband Ryan Phillippe last November and according to the source is not rushing things with Jake for both the sake of her and her two children: “[Reese] is still very, very hurt by Ryan and it will take a long time to get over that. [But she and Jake] have a mutual interest. They are taking it slow and getting to know each other.”
“Jake really likes her and isn’t at all concerned that she has two kids.”
Jake has previously expressed a desire to have children soon after spending time with his niece Ramona (daughter of his sister Maggie Gyllenhaal and Peters Sarsgaard) and his godchild Matilda, the daughter of Heath Ledger and Michelle Williams.
The source concluded about Jake and Reese: “Jake has never been about staying out late partying. This is what he wants.”
