The auctioneer, known as Acypress, claims to have been an extra on the set of the movie, and says if you bought the gum, you could clone the blonde actress from her DNA.
Acypress says: “Yes, I was an extra in the movie starring Jessica Simpson and sat next to her for 2 days of filming in Albuquerque. Jessica was chewing gum when shooting started and asked if we would mind her putting her gum in a napkin on our table. I joked that I would sell it on eBay. She said, ‘Go for it. You might make 99 cents.’”
Dane Cook and Jessica Simpson are making the final push to promote their movie Employee of the Month and appeared on the Today Show this morning.

Employee of the Month after party.
Rumors spread quickly that Jess was hooking up with her co-star Dane Cook while filming the new movie, but both continue to deny anything ever happened. Dane attended the premiere with his girlfriend and spoke a bit about being linked to Jessica:
Costar Cook, who attended the premiere with girlfriend Racquel Houghton, was linked to Simpson during filming, but told reporters of the gossip, "We laugh about it."
